We're Open! Come visit us at Cataumet Fish, and grab some local, sustainably harvested seafood and small-batch provisions.
Shellfish aquaculture is one of the most sustainable forms of farming- oysters are a net-zero crop - everything they need to thrive they get from the waters where they grow. We power our work float and upweller with solar and wind power, and use biodegradable harvest bags made with regenerative fibers.
The area of the Cape where we farm our oysters is distinct - the waters at the northern reaches of Buzzards Bay are uniquely varied. They are often wild, as swift currents collide with wind-driven waves, to create a tumultuous Sea State. Twice a day, with the changing of the tides, conditions can change dramatically. Cold waters from Cape Cod Bay rush into Buzzards Bay on the ebb, followed by temperate Gulf Stream waters on the flood. Farming here means capturing the imitable essence of this place.
We still have dates available for 2022 raw bar events, get in touch to learn more and to book. Our signature raw bar includes all local seafood, with an option to add on lobster rolls, chowder, and more.
